2009 Legislative Agenda
I finally have a good list of the bills we are pushing in the 2009 Session of the Indiana General Assembly. I would like it if people would make copies and spend the extra time to read what is in the bills. There are four bills:
Senate Bill No. 69 (how cool is that)
Motorized Bicycle Certificate
Motorized bicycle would mean Moped or Scooter. Would
make a certificate for anyone who doesn't have a drives license and would like
to ride a scooter ($10).
Motorized Bicycles can go faster then 25mph
Heck they already do....
Motor vehicle operation penalties
Right of Way Legislation, Something we NEED! Good
read, put some more meat into it this time. You could loose your right to drive
for one to three years if you do something stupid and injure or kill someone.
Motorized Bicycles
Long and in depth. Corrects definitions of what we
call Scooters to Motorized Bicycles. Requires that if they are driven on
highways to be registered and titled like a motorcycle. Also requires insurance.
Requires accident reports. 15 pages of pure legal hell, after reading it I think
it would correct many of Motorcyclist's problems with the un-registered scooters
by placing them on an even footing.
